We spent most of our time in SanDiego at the beach which was heavenly. Right on Mission Beach they had a place called the "Wave House." It's an outdoor restaurant, club, young adult hang out basically with a man made pipe-line wave. It was a blast. Cody signed up and got his butt rocked all day on this wave and I got to sit and relax in the hot tub right next to the wave the whole day. We loved it. This sport is a mixture of surfing, snowboarding, skim boarding, etc. It was way hard and everyone that was up there with Cody had been going there every day for four hours a day the past 6 months. It was still fun and entertaining to watch, and at times a little comical as the wave demolished him, ha ha.
