My parents came to visit us in Missouri and we were able to drive to Nauvoo and see it. I loved it! It was so special and the spirit there was so strong. It was also so beautiful, no wonder the saints were so upset when they left. We learned so many things about them that we never knew before. I had no idea that Nauvoo and Chicago were about the same size in population at the time the saints were run out. That is amazing to me. They had approximately 700 buildings there and they were so happy. The night they were run out was thirty below zero. There is so many things I could write about it but for the sake of writing a novel and posting 225 pictures which is how many I took, I just gave you a few. The temple was by far the most unique temple I have ever been inside. It was absolutely beautiful and held a different sacred feeling. I'm so grateful for the pioneers and for Joseph Smith and everything they sacrificed and the things we can learn from them. The kind of people they were alone is a huge example to me and the way they lived the gospel with such unshakeable faith was amazing. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to learn about them and see Nauvoo for myself. What a beautiful place. I gained an even stronger testimony as I learned, saw, and walked the same streets as the prophet once did. I hope that everybody has an opportunity to visit Nauvoo sometime in their lives. They won't regret it.

So fun! I was able to go to the Nauvoo Temple open house in 2002. That temple is really beautiful inside. I want to go back there...not in the spring, my allergies were SO bad that I had to stay in the car for half the things we saw...like Adam-Ondi-Ahman. :(
